STAGE AND SOUND PROGRAM

This Program is designed for learners who wish to explore modern styles of music performance and composition beyond the boundaries of traditional classical study. This program focuses on current musical genres such as Afro-fusion, Pop, R&B, Gospel, Reggae, Hip-Hop, Rock, EDM, and Alternative empowering students to develop versatility, stage presence, and artistic individuality.

Training begins with foundational rhythm awareness, chord structure recognition, and ear-based learning techniques. Instead of relying solely on notation, students are encouraged to interpret music through listening, improvisation, and collaborative performance. Vocalists, instrumentalists, and producers work together to understand groove, dynamics, and arrangement flow commonly found in band and studio settings.

Students are introduced to contemporary harmony through the use of chord charts, lead sheets, and number systems (e.g., Nashville or solfa progression formats). They learn how to build chord voicings on piano or guitar, interpret drum grooves, and layer melodies within band textures. For singers, microphone handling, vocal styling, and phrasing techniques such as scoops, runs, and vibrato control are explored.

Performance training is central to the program. Learners rehearse to backing tracks or live accompanists, gaining experience in stage navigation, audience interaction, and confidence projection. Advanced modules include songwriting, arrangement, basic recording techniques, and live band cooperation. Students are encouraged to write original music or reinterpret existing songs in new styles for versatility.

By the conclusion of the program, participants exit not just as instrumentalists or singers, but as adaptable musicians capable of performing in worship settings, bands, studio sessions, or solo showcases.
